Moray is known as a great Incan agricultural laboratory, and as an important energetic center.
After breakfast, at your hotel, we´ll take you to visit Moray; an important Incan agricultural complex considered by experts, as having served as an agricultural laboratory, where the Incas genetically manipulated agricultural products, from lower areas, to adapt them to proper growth and reproduction, at different altitudes, while diversifying their types and varieties.
Then, we´ll go on to visit the Maras Salt Mines; an impacting site, located in the Maras Gorge, where Maras´ famous Pink Salt is extracted, since Incan times, through millenary techniques, and is recognized for its healing properties, while it is perfect for cooking, due to its low sodium concentration.
Once the visit at the salt mines over, we´ll head to the village of Maras, to experience a pachamanca that is a traditional Andean dish the name of which derives from two Quechua words: PACHA (EARTH or WORLD) and MANKA (POT) or earthen pot.
After lunch, our vehicle will take us to Ollantaytambo´s railway station, to catch the panoramic train to Machupicchu Pueblo.
Upon our arrival in Machupicchu Pueblo, we´ll enjoy a welcome drink and a well-deserved rest or, eventually, some exploration, around the village.
